As a leading pioneer of psychiatric rehabilitative services, Community Friendship, Inc. (CFI) offers a comprehensive range of recovery-based programs. We provide support and training in self-sufficiency and independent living, career development, and full integration in the community.

We take a holistic approach, working with the whole person – mind, body, and spirit not just their illness. We believe that all individuals have the ability to grow and reach their full potential.

Intensive Case Management (ICM)

Intensive Case Management (ICM) provides coordinated care for those who are currently served in State Psychiatric Hospitals, frequently admitted to State Psychiatric Hospitals, have been in a correctional facility, who are seen frequently in Emergency Rooms; or who are chronically homeless.

Services are focused on assessing needs, obtaining services, obtaining treatment and supports, and in preventing and managing crisis.

This community-based service uses a recovery approach to assist individuals to identify, obtain, and sustain a range of resources needed to live, play, and work in the community.

With a focus on rehabilitation, interventions are delivered primarily in the community rather than in office setting.

PATH Homeless Outreach and Case Management

Homeless Outreach and Case Management Services are provided to individuals with a mental illness who are also homeless. The focus of service is on establishing trusting relationships, assessing needs, providing referral information and coordinating linkages to resources.

Activities include coordination of housing and mental health services, assistance with financial issues, assistance addressing co-occurring disorders, family reunification, and assistance addressing physical health issues and employment issues.

This program is funded by the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), through a grant provided by The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

Peer Support Program

The Peer Support Program provides a consumer managed program, operated by Certified Peer Specialists, (CPS), that provides structured activities to assist participants in developing and/or maintaining socialization, recovery, wellness and daily living skills that will allow consumers to live more independently.

CPS professionals provide services through a lived experience of having a mental illness diagnosis themselves.

Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Program

The Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program (PSR) Program provides consumers with the opportunity to develop and practice vocational, social and living skills.  These aspects develop hope, confidence and motivation.

Activities include Individualized Service Plan Development, Rehabilitation Engagement, Functional and Resource Assessment, Skill and Resource Development, as well as Wellness and Illness Management.

Residential Services

We offer a wide array of supported housing programs including independent apartments, supervised apartments, and group homes for individuals who have been homeless and have a mental illness.

Training and Professional Development

Our Training Department offers a variety of training to consumers, families, and staff including a recovery orientated prevention series, and family & consumer education.

Additionally, we provide training on a variety of topics related to psychiatric rehabilitation and recovery for staff and other professionals.

Work Opportunities Program

CFI helps consumers choose, get and keep competitive jobs in the community. CFI’s employment program recognizes the importance of consumer preference, and strives to find job placement and employment opportunities that are of preference to the consumers we serve.

CFI has continued to strengthen our relationship with several companies and organizations across Metropolitan Atlanta who understands the vulnerable population we serve.

Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Services

VR Services are provided to consumers who are in collaboration with the Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation Agency. Services provided include: Vocational Assessments, Work Evaluation, In-House and Community Work Adjustment, Personal and Social Adjustment, Job Readiness and Job Coaching
